38" overall, 32 ½” slightly curved blade with broad fuller and spear point, etched with trailing foliage and crowned VR on one side and ‘Volunteer Rifles’ with a strung bugle on the other, also etched with a double crest, initials ‘WBR’ and ‘UNC ROY UNC FOY INC LOT’. On the forte ‘Busain & Co Gerrard Street Soho Sq London’. Three bar steel hilt, stepped pommel, fish skin grip. In its steel scabbard with 2 suspension rings.
Circa 1860
Sword in good condition, very good blade.
