Terms and Conditions

General

All items are guaranteed to be authentic and of the date stated.

Where we are able to provide provenance this is done in good faith based on information passed to us and research from reputable sources, such as Army Lists, etc.

Condition reports, further information and extra pictures are freely available upon request.

All items are sold as Antique Collectors' items and are not intended for use.

Items on this website may not be purchased by persons under 18 years of age.

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to comply with any import restrictions in the country of delivery and to pay any Customs duties or taxes levied by the Customs organizations in the country of delivery.

Placing an order with West Street Antiques is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

 

Payment

Items purchased will be posted as soon as our bank confirms receipt of payment in full.

Payments for items must be made in British pounds (£) sterling using the following methods:

We prefer payment by bank transfer – please contact us for details. We also accept Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa/Delta/Electron, Discover, Switch/Maestro, Solo and personal cheques, UK bank issued only.

Payment should be received by West Street Antiques within 5 working days of agreeing the sale. Should payment not be received within this time the item may be made available for sale again.

A detailed receipt will be provided, usable as a valuation for insurance purposes.

 

Returns

You have a fourteen day inspection period from the date of receipt of the item. During this time if you have any queries or, in the rare event that you do not wish to keep the item, please contact us. Returned items should be packaged securely (we recommend using the packaging that it was sent in) and sent securely - we will be happy to advise. On receipt by West Street Antiques, and assuming the item to be in the same condition as originally shipped, we will refund the full purchase price of the item.

 

Part Exchange

Items will be considered at our discretion.

 

Layaway

By separate agreement it may be possible to pay for an item in 3 instalments over 3 months. One third of the purchase price must be paid at the outset. West Street Antiques will then issue a schedule of payments for the remaining two thirds. The item will remain the property, and in the possession, of West Street Antiques until full payment is received. Should payment in full not be made by the agreed date West Street Antiques shall be entitled to retain, as a restocking fee, from the sums already paid, a sum equivalent to 10% of the total purchase price per complete calendar month that the item has been reserved.

Reservation of Title

Title to items supplied by West Street Antiques remains with West Street Antiques until payment has been made in full.

 

Firearms and Shotguns

Licence Requirements

Sporting guns, rifles will only be released to a valid and appropriate  Firearm / Shotgun certificate holder.

Section 1 Firearms and require a valid British Firearms Certificate or Registered Firearms Dealer licence to be produced before it may be released.

Section 2 Firearms and require a valid British Shotgun Certificate or Registered Firearms Dealer licence to be produced before it may be released.

PLEASE NOTE: Examination is purely external, firearms are not stripped or function tested as a matter of course, and it is recommended that any purchase is stripped and cleaned, and that the firing and safety mechanisms are checked by a qualified gunsmith before use. It is the responsibility of the buyer to satisfy himself that the purchase is suitable for his requirements before purchase.
