14 ¾” overall, 8” barrel with blade foresight, inspector’s mark on left hand side. 6 shot 44 calibre cylinder, frame stamped ‘Starr Patent Jan 15 1856’ on the right hand side and ‘Starr Arms Co New York’ on the left hand side. Numbered 29839, single action. Walnut one piece grips with faint inspectors mark
Circa 1863-65.
In good condition, some fading to brown finish, with numerous military inspectors’ marks.
After Colts and Remingtons the Star is the most common Civil War revolver with the US Government buying about 25,000.
