
A Very Rare Scottish Flintlock Toby Pistol by A Moncur of Dundee. 10” overall, 5” three stage 50 bore brass cannon barrel, signed ‘A. Moncur Dundee’ on top flat, engraved brass tang, later flat lock with signature removed. Figured walnut stock with moulded apron around the tang and globose butt, with brass butt cap engraved with a thistle & ‘Long Live King Charles’, brass trigger plate & drop shaped trigger.

Very rare, possibly unique pistol, in good condition though the lock is a working life replacement. ‘Long Live King Charles’ probably engraved about 1766 when Charles Stuart the Jacobite heir became Charles III.
