A Very Rare & Fine 1822 Royal Marine General Officers Pattern Sword by Prosser.

37 ½” overall with 33” slightly curved pipe blade with spear point. Gilded brass three bar guard with crowned fouled anchor within a wreath of oak leaves, lion head pommel, grip with gilt three strand wire. Bullion and scarlet cord sword knot. In its regulation leather & brass scabbard with frog stud, two later  suspension rings and sling buckles. ’Prosser Manufacturer to His Majesty’ on the top mount.

Sword in good condition, much gilt remaining, blade polished, minor old pitting, scabbard leather a little soft.
