A Very Fine Cased Best Percussion Sporting Gun by Joseph Harkom. 46 ¾” overall, 30” Damascus 12 bore barrels, the top rib signed 'JOSEPH HARKOM EDINBURGH', and ‘1’. Platinum plugs, London Proofs and ‘292’ under the barrels, the breech engraved with a dog, protection plates under breech, very finely scroll engraved tang. Flat side locks engraved 'HARKOM' along with scrolls, Turkish walnut figured stock with crisp chequering at the hand and fore-end, silver oval escutcheon, trigger guard numbered 292 with scroll engraving, scroll engraved ramrod throat pipe, heel plate engraved with hounds, original brass mounted rosewood ramrod. In its original brass mounted oak case with green baize lining with a full complement of original accessories comprising two turnscrews, nipple wrench, two nipple cleaning tools, percussion cap dispenser signed ‘W.Bartram’, cleaning rods, cleaning jags, spare ramrod, leather covered powder flask signed ‘Sykes’, leather shot bag embossed with a Highlander, nipple key with pricker, two boxwood containers, wad cutter, bone nipple pot & oil bottle.
