A Percussion .44 Calibre Remington New Model Army Revolver. 14” overall, 8” octagonal barrel with short blade foresight, engraved on top flat ‘Patented Sept 14, 1858 Remington Sons, Illon , New York, USA, New Model’, stamped underneath no. 125853, solid frame with sighting groove on top strap. Hinged loading lever under barrel, six shot cylinder, spur hammer, brass trigger guard. Walnut two piece grip. Numerous inspectors’ marks on frame, barrel & cylinder.
