A Pattern 1842 Musket to the Bank of England. 54” overall, 39” round .750 barrel with blade fore sight & standing rear sight London proofs engraved ‘Bank of England’ on the top. Percussion border engraved side lock engraved ‘Lacy and Co’. Walnut full stock, barrel retained by three slides with regulation brass mounts comprising butt plate engraved, number 118, brass trigger guard, Lovell side cups, 3 ramrod pipes, fore end cap & Lovell pattern bayonet catch. With original button headed ramrod, later leather sling and a 1842 pattern bayonet.

High quality Volunteer weapon in very good condition.

Lacy & Co and Witton supplied about 150 muskets as well as carbines & pistols to the Bank of England in 1843 and they remained in use there till about 1875.
