49” overall, 33” barrel with ordnance proofs and ladder rear sight. The action marked Crown VR over ‘Enfield, 1872’.  Short lever, large cocking indicator, ‘S.X’ mark on breach top. Tulip headed rammer. Walnut full stock with Fort William storekeeper’s and Indian stamps.  Smooth steel butt plate. With black leather sling and socket bayonet.

Very rare first batch of the Mark 1, (these were not stamped ‘Mark 1’). Within service modifications, good condition.
