A Rare Cased London Colt Model 1862 Police Percussion Revolver. 10 ½” overall, 4 ½” round .36 barrel with one line address ‘ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW_YORK US AMERICA’ with streamlined barrel & creeping rammer. London Proofs to left hand side of barrel. ‘COLTS / PATENT’ stamped on the left side of the frame. Five shot rebated & half fluted cylinder with London Proofs stamped within the flutes. Silver plated back strap & trigger guard with one piece walnut grips. Numbered 19097 E on all parts including wedge, & 19097 E on butt & trigger guard. Varnished walnut grips. In its original green baize lined & fitted screwed lid oak case, brass escutcheon on the lid & with directions for loading & cleaning label inside the lid. Accessories comprise a bag shaped copper flask by James Dixon & Sons, blued double cavity iron mould for balls & bullets stamped ‘COLT'S PATENT’ on the sprue cutter and ‘36P’, blued combined nipple key & turnscrew, and a Joyce cap tin.

A rare pistol in good condition. Nipple key later. Lacks loading rod & corner box lid.
