A Rare Kings Own Scottish Borders Field Officers Sword. 40” overall, 33” straight Claymore blade with twin narrow fullers & spear point, engraved with GR V cipher to one side & ‘Kings Own Scottish Borders’ to the other, with scrolling thistles. Pierced  symmetrical steel bowl guard with thistles & regimental badge, with liner.  As carried by Scottish staff officers of  Royal Scots, Gorden Highlanders and Highland Light Infantry but with their own regimental badges. Fish skin grip with twisted steel wire. In its original field service pattern scabbard with steel ball ended drag.
