An 1822 Pattern Infantry Sword by Prosser.

38” overall, 32 ¼” pipe backed blade with spear point, etched with Queen's Crown and VR to both sides and 'Prosser to the Royal Family, London/Charing Cross'. The gilt brass guard with VR monogram in an oval, a forward swept quillon and hinged folding edge, fish skin with seven bands of twisted wire, the back strap cast in a single piece with oval stepped pommel, numbered 2752 to the inside of the guard. The brass mounted leather scabbard marked 'Prosser to the Royal Family, Charing Cross London' with decorative frog lug and twin ring suspension, one on a sliding mount.

Sword in very good condition, scabbard with a taped repair to lower mount.
