38" overall, 30" double edged lozenge blade engraved with foliate panels, regimental badge & proof marks to one side, with foliate panels 'HAC', & 'Prater & Co Bedford Street Covent Garden London' to the other. The gilt hilt with stirrup knucklebow, single shell guard with applied grenade, stepped pommel, fish skin grip with triple strand gilt wire. Original bullion sword knot. In its original black leather scabbard with frog stud.
Circa 1860.
Blade in very good condition with nearly all polish, some gilt remaining on hilt & mounts, fish skin good, leather scabbard still firm.
