A Rare French Naval AN X Sabre de Bord or 1811 Pattern Cutlass. 32” overall, 27”blade slightly curved with broad fuller, engraved on both sides with an anchor & inspector stamps, & ‘M-F’ture Imp du Klingenthal Coulaux frere’ on the spine. Sheet iron half basket hilt with octagonal iron grip, five lobed quillion, Phrygian helmet pommel, in it’s original brass mounted black leather scabbard, with a frog stud on the top mount.
Circa 1811- 1815.

Jacques and Julien Coulaux managed the Klingenthal factory from 1803 to 1836.
