A Fine Flintlock Park Rifle by Sykes of Oxford. 47” overall, 31” octagonal barrel with blade fore sight, folding rear sights signed ‘Sykes Oxford’ on the top flat, gold line false breech with gold touch hole. Flat border engraved lock plate with wheat ear engraving, signed ‘Sykes’, bolted detented lock with waterproof pan. Set trigger, walnut half stock with horn fore end, rifle cheek piece, iron mounts with scroll trigger guard and patchbox. Replacement iron ramrod.
