15” overall, 9” 16 bore barrel, adjustable fore and rear sight, octagonal Nock’s Patent breech, to round barrel engraved with a starburst, top flat of breech engraved ‘H. Nock London’, barrel tang florally engraved. Flat stepped locklpate engraved ‘H Nock’, swan necked cock plain with chamfered edges. Waterproof pan, roller to frizzen spring, plain walnut full stock with semi slab sided butt. Gilt brass furniture comprising trigger guard with pineapple finial engraved 'B. Middleton', ramrod pipe with swivel rammer. Barrel retained with round pins like the New Land musket.
Circa 1800
The pistol although severely plain is of the highest quality. In good condition, there are numerous Middletons on the Army lists but I have not found ‘B Middleton’.
