15” overall, 9” Damascus twist carbine bore octagonal sighted barrels engraved 'London' along the top flat, London proofs, tangs engraved with a basket of flowers and with back sight. Bolted stepped flat locks engraved ‘Smith’, swan necked cocks, semi rainproof pans and rollers. Figured full stocks with chequered rounded butts, trigger guards with pineapple finials. Silver escutcheon engraved ‘RL’, original horn tipped ramrods one with a worm.
In their original lined oak case with accessories comprising three way black leather covered powder-flask, loading rod with worm, steel bullet mould, wad punch, a turn screw and oil bottle. The exterior of the lid with brass escutcheon incorporating a flush fitting carrying handle, and engraved ‘RL’.
Circa 1810-15.
A good cased set in good used condition.
