A Very Rare and Fine Pair of Double Barrel Gilt Bronze Flintlock Pistols by Abel Williams,

13” overall 6 ¼” 40 bore three stage cannon barrels turned at the muzzle, octagonal breeches numbered 0, 1, 2 and 3 respectively, with Private Tower Proofs.  Finely engraved box lock actions with central cocks, signed ‘Williams’ and fitted with sliding pan cover lever on the left and inscribed 'London'.  Steel trigger guard, safety catch engraved with a foliate rocaille on the bow, figured swelling flat butt inlaid with fine silver wire fan behind tang and zig zag border.

A pair of superb pistols of the highest quality in very good condition.
