11 ½” overall, 6” barrel with 2 line New York address. Cylinder with stagecoach scene. Action marked ‘Colt Patent’. Brass trigger guard, grip & back strap. Varnished walnut grips. Numbered. 158480 for 1859. Trigger guard and barrel with military inspectors’ stamps. Faintly engraved ‘7th ACO.’ on bottom of the butt.
In good condition, matching numbers, some finish, varnished grips very good.
It has been suggested that 7th ACO may refers to A Company 7th Texas Infantry, Anderson County.
