A Cased Colt 1860 Army Revolver. 14 ¼” overall, 8” barrel the top flat marked ‘ADDRESS COL. SAMl COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA’, the left side of the frame marked ‘Colts Patent’. The cylinder engraved with naval battle scene & marked ‘Colts Patent No 2376’. The matching serial number ‘132376’ marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard & back strap, the partial serial number ‘6678’ is marked on the cylinder. Three screw frame cut for shoulder stock, brass trigger guard & steel back strap. Smooth one piece varnished walnut grip. In its walnut American pattern dark red velvet lined case, possibly original, containing an eagle embossed pocket size powder flask, Colts patent iron bullet mould marked ‘Colts Patent’ & ‘L’ shaped turnscrew & a japanned cap tin.

No military marks on the pistol at all, so probably for civilian sale, pistol a little worn, casting crack in left hand side of the frame, rare as a cased pistol.
