An 1854 Pattern Officer’s Levee Sword 37 ½” overall with a 32 ½” narrow fullered blade with bands of foliage and crowned ‘V.R’ on the forte, ‘Watson & co. Bombay’ and proof mark to obverse. Gilt gothic hilt inset with crowned ‘V.R’ with black leather liner and gilt sword knot. Stepped pommel and acanthus backstrap with fishskin and twisted gilt wire grip. In its regulation brass scabbard with two suspension rings and steel drag.

Blade with all its original polish, gilt rather rubbed, scabbard with minor dents – would benefit from a polish.
