10 ½” overall, 5” octagonal barrel with bead foresight, stamped “E Whitney N Haven” with London proof marks. Solid frame with 5 shot cylinder with London proofs, spurred hammer, brass trigger guard and walnut two piece grips. Numbered under the barrel 30315.

The Whitney Arms Company manufactured at least 33,000 Navy Model revolvers from the 1850's thru 1866. The Ordnance Department purchased 11,184 Whitney Navy Model revolvers from various dealers between 1861 and 1863. The U.S. Navy purchased an additional 6,276 Navy Model revolvers directly from the Whitney Arms Company. The U.S. Navy revolvers had Navy markings.
