comprising an over and under 40 bore pistol and a five shot 96 bore pepperbox revolver. Over and under double barrelled Percussion Pistol 10 ¾” overall, 4 ½” slab barrel block with 40 bore barrels, with bead foresight, engraved ‘London’ on the top flat. London proof marks, tang deeply scroll engraved with foliage. Bolted & engraved back action lock, engraved flat dolphin hammers. Chequered walnut butt with vacant white metal escutcheon engraved butt cap with trap for percussion caps, engraved trigger guard double triggers. Swivel ramrod. A five Shot 96 bore Pepperbox Revolver 8 ½” overall, 3 ½” fluted hand rotated barrel group, with bead fore sights, offset nipples and London Proofs. Barrel tang scroll engraved en-suit and signed ‘Wilkinson & Son’. Side lock action, border and scroll engraved ‘London’ to left hand side, dolphin Hammer. Finely chequered walnut one piece grip with engraved iron butt-trap for caps, and engraved iron trigger guard bow. In their original dark mahogany case lined in green baize with Wilkinson & Son King & Prince Royal of Persia trade label, Gilt brass lifting ring to lid and a full set of accessories, comprising a Dixon three way flask, a Dixon bag shaped flask, two WD bullet moulds in 40 and 96 bore, a loading rod and jag, oil bottle, key and cap tin.
Both pistols engraved en-suit, of the highest possible quality and look to be unfired. Nearly all original finish remaining.
