A Silver Mounted Transitional Flintlock Duelling Pistol by Twigg

16” overall. 10” octagonal sighted barrel signed “Twigg London”, with adjustable fore and rear sights, 28 bore. Acanthus engraved barrel tang, flat stepped lockplate signed “Twigg” (2nd signature), swan neck cock, scoop shaped pan & blued steel frizzen spring, frizzen with anti-friction roller. Silver mounts comprising long eared butt cap with mask, trigger guard with floral finial, floral sideplate & two ramrod pipes, London hallmarked for 1778, IK (John King). Walnut full stock, scroll engraved around tang, horn tipped ramrod (probably a replacement).
In very good condition, barrel with an old re-finish.
