A Fine & Rare East India Company Windus Musket by Twigg.

54” overall, 39 5/8” round 11 bore barrel struck with East Indian Company, Ordnance and inspector's mark, Crown over ‘4’ at the breech and ‘Twigg 1780’ [faintly], lock with ‘EIC’ and ‘1780’ on the tail and ‘Twigg’ under the pan with the mark of Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Windus (W crowned), swan necked cock. Full hand rail stock with ‘W’ mark behind the trigger guard tang. Regulation brass mounts, including side plate, trigger guard and three ramrod pipes. With its original iron ramrod, and original Windus pattern bayonet with short spring, EIC bale mark and ‘Twigg 1780’ on the socket and stamped ‘Harvey’ on blade.

In very good condition, lacking sling swivels. It is rare to find Windus muskets in original unaltered condition.
