10½” overall, 5” octagonal barrel with bead fore sight and London Proofs. 2 line address: “ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON” 5 shot cylinder with stage coach hold-up scene, silver plated iron backstrap and trigger guard, numbered on all parts 6236. Varnished walnut grips.
In its original red velvet lined and fitted maple case with brass escutcheon on the lid and loading and cleaning directions label inside the lid. Contains bag shaped copper flask by James Dixon & Sons, blued double cavity iron mould for balls and bullets stamped "COLT'S PATENT" on the sprue cutter, blued steel cleaning rod with maple handle, blued combined nipple key and turnscrew, unopened Joyce & Co cap tin.
Circa 1855.
In good condition with much original finish.
