40” overall, 34” slightly curved blade with spear point and single broad fuller. Forte signed ‘weyfrsbrg kirschbuaum cie Solingen’ and dated 1886, on the obverse are ‘WD’ inspector’s marks and ‘YC’. Steel bowl guard with Maltese cross. Cancelled stamp of 3rd D.G. and EYK. Chequered grip retained with five rivets. In its regulation ox eyed steel scabbard, marked EYK 102 ’ on throat piece with military inspector’s marks.

Sword in good condition, hilt and scabbard darkly patinated, leather washer lacking.
