A Rare Pattern 1857 Engineer Officers Sword by Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall. 38” overall, 32” blade deeply etched with foliage, VR crown & ‘Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London’ to one side, the other with foliage & ‘Engineers’, proof mark & owners initials ‘CJM’ & crest of an armoured raised arm with a sword, pre numbering blade.  Gilt brass hilt, the bowl of open work scrolled form with engraved foliage. Gilt wire bound fish skin grip. In its brass Field Officer’s scabbard with three suspension rings.

Blade Circa 1850 and rehilted Circa 1857.

Fine sword in good condition.
