A Rare Pattern 1857 Engineer EIC Officers Sword by Parker Field & Co. 38” overall, 32” fullered blade deeply etched with foliage & Crown over VR ‘Parker Field & Co 233 High Holborn London’ to one side, the other with foliage & Crown over EIC rampant lion & proof mark. Gilt brass hilt, the bowl of open work scrolled form with engraved foliage. Gilt wire bound fish skin grip. In its black leather scabbard with brass mounts.
Blade Circa 1845 and re-hilted Circa 1857.
Rare sword in quite good condition, pitted towards tip. Scabbard stitching is poor.
