A Rare 1856 Pattern Yeomanry Rifled Percussion Cavalry Pistol with Shoulder Stock.

26 ½” with stock fitted, pistol 16”, overall. 10" barrel .577 bore with 5 groove rifling, Ordnance proofs. Blade foresight, folding 2 leaf rear sight, the two line border engraved lock stamped with V.R Crown and Tower 1859, London proofs. Walnut full stock with many inspectors’ marks and ‘Moxham’ impressed in the stock. Regulation brass mounts, slotted for shoulder stock, the butt cap with lanyard ring, and swivel ramrod. The shoulder stock with border engraved steel attachment mount with spring catch, with inspectors mark and brass butt plate.
Dated 1859.
In good condition with very good rifling, lanyard ring missing from butt.
A rare pistol, one of an order of 1,379 for yeomanry units. Only about 400 were issued with shoulder stocks.
