36” overall, 30” straight blade with twin fullers, patent solid hilt, etched with Crowned fouled anchor, Royal Coat of Arms, & ‘Patent Solid Hilt’, with scrolling foliage, & ‘Seagrove The Hard Portsea’ to one side, the other with proof mark to forte. Solid gilt half basket hilt with Crowned fouled anchor, folding side guard, lion’s head pommel with long mane. White fish skin grip with twisted gilt wire. In its original gilt brass & black leather scabbard. Tablet on the chape of ‘E. A. Seagrove. The Hard Portsea’, with bullion sword knot & Junior Ranks dress belt by Seagrove, with two bullion bands & 1856 pattern unequal round bullion slings.
