An 1827 Pattern Naval Sword.

37” overall, 31 ½” slightly curved fullered blade of Wilkinson’s new pattern, engraved with crowned fouled anchor, foliage & ‘Shannon & Sons Fore Street Davenport’ to one side, the other with foliage & Royal coat of arms & proof mark to forte. Numbered on spine ‘1719’. Solid gilt half basket hilt with crowned fouled anchor, folding side guard, lion’s head pommel. White fish skin grip with twisted gilt wire. In its original gilt brass & black leather scabbard, with Junior ranks dress belt By E. Walton of Gosport with two bullion bands, & flat unequal leather slings also with two bullion bands.
