A Rare RNR Officers Sword. 38” overall, 32” fullered blade well etched with scrolls & royal arms & crown over anchor entwined with ‘RNR’, signed at forte ‘Batson London’.  Numbered on spine 4052. Hilt of 1827 pattern with folding guard & cartouche with ‘RNR’ & crowned anchor. Fish skin grip, bullion sword knot. In its original brass mounted leather scabbard with its oil skin bag. 

Early 20th Century, in very good condition. 

Batson listed in 1933 Kelly's Directory as J H Batson, Outfitter, 94 High Street, Erith, London Borough of Bexley, the firm started as William Batson & changed to J H Batson in the 1920's
