A Very Fine 1827 Naval Officers Sword. 38” overall with 31 ½” slightly curved blade with spear point. Etched on one side with scrolling foliage, crowned fouled anchor and ‘Gieve Matthew & Seagrove London, Portsmouth & Devonport’, the other with Royal Coat of Arms & ‘By Warrant’ &  ‘Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London’ numbered on the spine 41215. Gilded bowl guard with crowned fouled anchor & lion pommel, fish skin grip with gilt three strand wire. Bullion sword knot. In its regulation leather & brass scabbard with spring catch & two suspension rings. ‘Wilkinson Gun and Sword Maker Pall Mall London’ in a shield on the top mount.
