A Rare Highland Regiments Field Officers Sword by Wilkinson. 38” overall,32” straight broadsword blade with narrow fuller & spear point, engraved with GR V cipher to one side & ‘Black Watch Royal Highlanders’ to the other, with scrolling thistles, ‘Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London’ & numbered 43549 on the spine. With pierced steel bowl guard of Royal Engineers 1858 pattern, as carried by Scottish staff officers of The Black Watch, Seaforth Highlanders & the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Fish skin grip with twisted steel wire. In its field service pattern scabbard.

No 43549 - Entry dated 7th May 1912, Black Watch pattern. Sold to A.H.O. Dennistoun, Black Watch.
