Extremely rare 1816 model Cuirassiers broadsword. In fine condition, blade, hilt and scabbard very good, old browning to scabbard. Hilt redesigned to provide more protection from bayonet thrusts, pommel strengthened. Blade with rounded back edge. Very few of these swords were produced due to a surplus of original swords available over several years following Waterloo. It’s extremely difficult to find a completely original example with all of the modifications.
