
A 1788 Light Cavalry Troopers Sword. 40 ½” overall 35 ½” curved ‘a la Montmorency’ blade with one narrow & one broad fuller, engraved on both sides with Hussars, man in the moon and Turks head, broad arrow under a Crown acceptance stamp. Back Edge stamped’ R. Sohlinen’ . D shaped chamfered knuckle bow, flat pommel, double bar langets, ribbed wooden grip. Iron scabbard with wooden core & inset leather panel, some original black paint remaining.

In good condition for age, leather grip covering missing. An early example of a Runkle blade.
