A Very Fine 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword.

38” overall, 33” curved single edged blade, deep broad fullers, ¾ of the blade blued & gilt, one side with Rose bouquet, Post 1801 GR cypher, mounted Hussar and elaborate trophy of arms at the forte, the other side with elaborate urn, Crown over GR, trophy of arms with lances and a floral swag at the forte. Hilt with stirrup guard & langets, wire bound fish skin grip with twisted steel wire, in its steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
Circa 1801-16.
Sword in very good condition, blue and gilt very good, light rubbing on one fuller edge, scabbard with some old rust stains, could be improved with a polish.
