33” overall, 28 ½” slightly curved flat spear pointed blade with ‘Reeves & Co’ on back edge. Iron figure of eight guard with broad arrow stamp, ringed iron grip.
Circa 1841-45
A rare sword in good condition with original black paint to hilt.
The 1814 pattern was a Tatham & Egg design. Cutlasses were not made between 1816 and 1841, due to the large numbers in store.
