49 ½” overall, 32 ½" rifled 577/450 barrel stamped ‘Henry Rifling’ & ‘Westley Richards Co’, with foresight & ladder rearsight, Dated 1898 on the Knox form, Birmingham proof marks on L/H side. Slab sided receiver marked 'MADE SPECIALLY FOR ZAR' , dropping feed ramp with cocking indicator, no provision for safety. Walnut butt stock with plain blued iron heel plate, short finger lever, walnut fore end, two iron barrel bands & nose cap with bayonet lug. Flared end iron ramrod & swivels.

Good condition overall, bore good.
Martini action but had an improved Francotte patent breech mechanism. This design feature enabled the complete action to be removed by unscrewing the large screw at the bottom front edge of the receiver. This feature is unique to the ZAR Martinis.
