44” overall 28” .50 seven groove sighted browned barrels fitted with a parade of gold lined rear leaf sights to 400 yards. Finely linear engraved sighting rib, engraved ‘John Dickinson & Son 63 Princes Street Edinburgh’ on barrel tops, London Proofs. The back action safety bolted locks, border and scroll engraved signed ‘John Dickinson & Son’, scroll engraved dolphin headed hammers, border and scroll engraved round action with Jones rotary under lever with two bites. Highly figured walnut stock with chequered pistol grip and fore-end, rifle cheek pad, engraved chequered steel butt plate.
Serial no. 2202 for 17th September 1861.
Barrels rebrowned, traces of original blueing and case colour hardening.
