47” overall, 30” .52 calibre barrel retained with three bands, with 6 groove rifling and ladder rear sight graduated to 900 yards. SL inspector’s mark on breach [Samuel Leonard]. Knox form engraved ‘SPENCER REPEATING RIFLE PAT. D MARCH 6th 1860’ numbered on the breech 3410. Under lever action, 7 shot tubular magazine in butt with back action lock. Two piece oiled walnut stock with faint cartouche on left hand side.
