A Rare WD Beaumont Adams 54 Bore Percussion Revolver.

12 ½” overall, 5 ½” octagonal 54 bore barrel. Signed ‘London armoury’ on the top flat. Five shot cylinder numbered 27532R with London proofs. Right hand side of action with ‘WD’ & broad arrow marked, ‘Adams Patent’ & number ‘No.25475R’ & sliding safety. Left hand side with rammer, spur trigger, one piece walnut butt, drilled for lanyard.

Dark grey finish, arbour pin wing screw replaced with a standard screw.
Ordinance ordered two batches of revolvers totalling 7700 between 1855-65 of which about 5000 came from the LAC. 7000 were converted to centre fire from 1869 onwards, making this percussion example really quite rare.
