A Pair of Fine Percussion Travelling Pistols by Beattie. 12 ½” overall, 6” octagonal barrels with adjustable blade foresight & adjustable rear sight, engraved ‘J Beattie 223 Regent Street London’ on the top flat. Patent breeches, engraved barrel tangs, border engraved side lock with scroll engraving, signed ‘J Beattie’. Early percussion hammers with removable noses (possibly for pellet lock) with platinum breech plugs. Walnut full stock with iron mounts, trigger guard numbered 2123 with swivel ramrods. Scroll engraved butt plate with trap.
