
A Flintlock French Officers Holster Pistol. 21 ½” overall,13 ¾” 15 bore [15mm] round barrel with narrow top rib & moulded breech, bevelled edge stepped ‘Banana’ lockplate with bevelled pan, swan necked cock. Walnut full stock moulded around the barrel tang, lock & ramrod channel. Steel mounts comprising foliate sideplate, escutcheon, long spurred pommel with domed butt cap, trigger guard with cone shaped finial, turned baluster ramrod pipes, later horn tipped wooden ramrod.
Circa 1700-30.
A fine looking large officer’s holster pistol of the pre regulation type, size & calibre. In rubbed condition, fore end repaired .
