8 ½” overall, 3 ½” octagonal 50 bore barrel engraved on top flat ‘Jas. Haywood Chester’. Birmingham post 1813 proofs. Engraved box lock action with a percussion nipple & flintlock pan, ring necked flint cock with a percussion hammer head below the flint jaw, sliding safety. Left hand side fitted with a belt clip, right hand side with a spring bayonet & folding trigger. Swivel ramrod. Walnut finely chequered flat bottomed butt with a silver band & vacant oval escutcheon.
Circa 1830.
