
A Very Rare Pennel Revolving Park Rifle by Thomas Boyd. 46 ½” overall, 27 ½” octagonal 80 bore multi-grooved rifling, top flat engraved 'THOs. J. BOYD'S IMPROVED, REVOLVING, RIFLE.', German silver fore sight & a back sight of one standing & one folding leaf, Birmingham proof. Border engraved self cocking enclosed hammerless action with well engraved cover depicting a running stag in a landscape to the left, & acanthus scrolls to the right, inscribed 'PATENT' to the top, six shot cylinder. Straight hand stock of figured walnut with steel crescent butt plate, trigger guard with straight front & scrolling finger extension, engraved patch box cover, steel ramrod below the barrel.
