
A Fine Flintlock Double Barrelled 14 Bore Keel & Co Sporting Gun. 45” overall, 29” patent Damascus barrels, gold line at breech, signed on top of both barrels in gold ‘Keel & Co Patent’. Blade fore sight, barrels made without a top or bottom rib. Gold touch holes, London proofs & numbered 126 on underside. Finely engraved tang, flat locks signed ‘Keel & Co’, with waterproof pans, swan necked cocks, rollers on frizzen springs. Highly figured walnut stock with chequered wrist, engraved steel mounts, trigger guard & trigger plate with pineapple finial, silver barrel bolt escutcheons, brass tipped ramrod with worm.

In very good condition, internal lock work of very fine quality, barrels re-browned, good bores.
I have been unable to find anything about Keel or his patent, and only found one other example.
