Knox form, engraved ‘MODEL 1865 SPENCER REPEATING RIFLE PAT. D MARC 6th 1860 MANUF.D AT PROV.R.I BY BURNSIDE RIFLE CO Model 1865’ numbered on the breech 18915. Under lever action, 7 shot tubular magazine in butt with back action lock. 2 piece oiled walnut stock with inspector’s stamp ‘JLC' (J. Cottle), with sling bar and ring.
