A Rare Early WR Customs & Coastguard Percussion Pistol. 12" overall, 6" round carbine bore barrel with GR & MR proofs & inspectors marks. Nipple bolster with brazed vent, Stepped bolted flat bevelled lockplate, , converted from flint, with Crown WR & Enfield on tail with ordinance stamp. Walnut full stock with ‘BO’, inspector’s and store keeper’s marks. With regulation mounts, butt plate, trigger guard with drop finial, fore end plate with lanyard swivel, swivel ramrod.
Circa 1832-5
In good condition some bruising & chips to stock. Paget lock plate with IG stamp of John Gill & Co so made prior to 1820 .
